Vans' storied history, and our connection with skate and surf culture, began in 1966 Southern California with the rolling out of a single pair of shoes. They were named Authentic.     I enjoy them, I was a little unsure about getting them at first because I felt like I was going to look like a grandma with these shoes. Buuut I love them. They're light, somewhat comfortable, go perfect with skinny jeans (regular skate shoes make your feet look entirely too big), they're stylish, hell.. Haha they're just nice.

    The downside, I would never skate with these shoes, they are for people with flat feet (like me), they tear easy (a con if you want the fresh and clean look, but I like the wear and tear look), and I personally think they look weird if you're wearing anything besides shorts or skinny jeans.

    I love the Canvas, but last time I've purchased the color Shitake Brown / Black and the color of the shoes has nothing to do with the one on the website. The website shows a light brown, while the one that I received is much darker.

        My feet are long and narrow. Since this is unisex, it is a little too wide for me around the ankle and comes "open" when I walk. Since there were no coupons, I am not sure if I would spend this much on a casual shoe again. They are cute, however, and my students think I am cool!
