The inaugural member of Vans' legendary legacy of high top skate shoes was the first to bring the supportive sensibilities of an athletic boot to the world of skating. The popularity of the Sk8-Hi look followed suit, becoming a favorite amongst skaters, musicians, artists, and counter culture types alike. Today they remain in their original form, a perennial classic, built like they always have with sturdy suede/canvas or canvas (True White) uppers, and waffle rubber soles.

I've been wearing these bad boys for years. Look great new, look even better when they're old. It's and old school look with a style that's still relevant today. I bike a lot, so my shoes take a real beating. These things pull through, though I wouldn't suggest wearing them when the roads are full of snow, mud, and sludge. You'll have some pretty sad and soggy feet.

I have worn vans all my life and I have never had an issue with the durability. This is the second pair of Sk8-hi I have owned and I will not buy another pair. The suede toes on both shoes has literally disintegrated. Almost seems like it was made with some kind of heavy bond PAPER! The first pair lasted a little longer before they were unwearable. This pair has lasted a month. The sole is fresh but the toes and heels have fallen apart. I sure hope that you guys can get the quality control under wraps or I my have to find a new shoe company.

I had a pair of Sk8-Hi in the early 90s that I loved. I have worn Converse too BUT they no longer have a full rubber sole but VANS does!! So, I will continue to buy Vans because of the vulcanized full rubber sole, comfort and they're just awesome. I happen to have a sort of narrow heel and my foot is a little wide near the toes so this style is extremely comfortable to me. I've worn them every day since I got them and think the quality and comfort is as good as I remembered. Great shoes, priced reasonably! They DO stretch some so don't be surprised if you have to tighten your strings every now and then during the first couple weeks of wear.

I've been skating these bad boys for so long, they are definitely my go to shoe for skating! they will needs some breaking in at first but they are one rad pair of shoes!

this shoe has a real classic feel to it. They are stylish and you can't go wrong with them. The only issue is putting them on if you are not used to high top shoes.

We like the ankle support and grip when skateboarding and walking.We've been wearing Vans for 20+years.We call them our suburban moccasins:)They seem to be getting made more cheaply, the suede on the side wore out in just a few months. I thought there was a pebble stuck in the heel inside the shoe, it was infact a hard puddy color substance (i assume to give the heel it's shape and rigidity)all broken up inside the shoe!I cut the shoe open on the inside to get all of this substance out.I could wear the shoe again after that.Also had to shoe goo the outside of the heel with the vans logo on it to keep from flapping.So we just bought another pair and if there not better quality it'll be the last!
