The Era is our classic lace-up skate shoe. We could tell you the whole history of why it has become a skating legend, but we'll let the comfort tell the story. Crafted with a soft footbed, double-stitched vamp, padded tongue and lining, and our signature waffle sole.
I have been wearing these shoes for a very long time now. These shoes are by far my favorite footwear I have ever and probably will ever wear.
With that being said, lets get the cons out of the way. The foxing on these shoes are a bit flimsy. After a few weeks of wearing these shoes the foxing starts to separate from the canvas where your foot bends. Also, if you have white foxing, it will stain fairly easily.
Now to the pros of these shoes. Ahhhh, where should I start?
These shoes are the best shoes for casual wear, any type of skateboarding sport, fast or slow, going to the boardwalk, going to a party, going to your friends house, etc. These shoes are pretty much the best for ANYTHING! I have ran miles in these shoes, skated down a hill at 40 mph in these shoes, I have hiked in these shoes, and the list goes on and on!
The canvas of these shoes is top notch material that is very durable. I have taken several falls in these and it has barely frayed. The canvas has been through the rain and mud and the only stain on it is from paint.
Speaking of paint, these shoes are perfect for custom artwork that really is 'you.' People all around have their Vans painted, both guys and girls.
Bottom line is that these classic shoes are great for anyone no matter what you do or where your from. These are a MUST BUY!

I was disappointed because i really like the look of the shoes for everyday. I bought the shoes in purple and it looks really cute. I do not see myself buying these again. I own a pair of classic slip-ons and i do not experience the same problem with those. I think that this shoe should be made with a little more cushion in the heel and then they would be perfect!
my shoes wore through the side in less than a week and a half not happy with them at all could have bought shors a lot cheeper if i only wanted them to last a week and a half. thank you

The only problem that I had with this shoe is for the first week I had them, they rubbed against the back of my heels and it hurt after a while (but a band-aid can fix that). But after you break them in they are the most amazing shoe you will ever own. Great support, you can walk in them for hours without your feet hurting, and you can wear them with anything! Jeans, shorts, skirts, and even making a statement with dresses. I recommend also buying peds with your Vans, or ankle socks. But that's just my opinion. I wore them all winter without getting unbearably cold, and now when it's getting hot they're perfect. I wear them pretty much every day.
Got this shoe for summer and I'm already wearing it everyday! Great all around shoe, with great comfort and style. The Era is probably my favorite type of Vans shoe, so if you get one....Enjoy!
