This shoe really surprised me with its grip. I like the flexibility of the fabric. the only problem is that if you skate aggresivley and competativley like me the fabric starts to tear. the sides arent as strong as some shoes and peel after sliding up and down the griptape. all and all its the perfect shoe for anyone from begginner to pro.

These were my first pair of Vans, and I was somewhat disappointed by them. I've owned them since Christmas time, and started wearing them when I was able to skate. It is now the 1st of May, and the sole of my left foot has a large hole all the way through, and the right is almost all the way through as well. The soles on these shoes are not nearly as solid as I would expect from an esteemed company like Vans. Another complaint (although this might just be because I have stinky feet) is that these shoes don't breathe, and have picked up a terrible odor from me sweating inside them. I will be purchasing another model with gum soles to give Vans another chance. I wouldn't classify these as a skate shoe. The grip wore off much too quickly, and I have resorted to patching them using duct tape just to keep stuff from coming inside the shoe. A company that's been going for over 20 years shouldn't be making shoes that wear out in less than 5 months. However, I should say that I love how these shoes fit and how comfortable they are to wear. If you're looking for a comfy pair of walkarounds, these are a great choice. Just don't skate in them.

      Comments about Chukka Low, Men:

I must say I've always been a fan of Vans, they've always provided the best for my feet. I went with the tan/white ones just to kinda bring in the summer (for casual wear). Since I'm not new to their shoes, hands down I love them. The only thing I'm SLIGHTLY annoyed at is on the tan/white pair in the picture the signature label on the heel is blue, on the pair I received it was red, (no biggie!) just the blue had me sold.

      Comments about Chukka Low, Men:

I bought these shoes for my husbands birthday. I got them as a suprise and thank god i got the right size. He loved the color and the fit. Like every shoe you have to break them in so they may not be comfortable at first but I am so happy I got them to him before he left :'(
