I really needed a good shoe that was comfortable to skate in, but also something that i wouldn't rip to shreds in a month. The Leather Sk8-Hi was perfect for me. I dont sprain my ankle every week, and i dont have to buy a new pair of shoes every four months. The leather is really good at resisting abrasion. Will defiantly be getting another pair when these finally give out.

First of all, I truly believe that I received a pair of shoes that somehow snuck past the quality control desk. In 26 years of wearing Vans, I have never seen a pair constructed quite so carelessly as these were. The rubber on the toes (both shoes) was not completely glued to the leather (looked like it had peeled up). The black stripe around the top of the rubber was a wavy line that once even disappeared into said rubber. Flecks of vulcanized white rubber were all over the leather where it meets the rubber sole. And finally, the photo shows the brown shoe with black laces. I received a brown shoe with brown laces, with one of the laces torn in half! Not even an extra pair of black laces!?? I have owned countless pairs of sk8-hi-tops and have never seen such careless craftsmanship. I promptly returned these to a local Vans store in hopes of a trade. However, the other brown leather shoes in stock had the same issues. Very disappointing! I ended up trading for the black leather hi-tops and they look and feel great!

I didn't use the shoes as it was determined they weren't wanted/needed.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was prompt and arrived in good condition. The problem occured when I needed to return the merchandise because it was no longer needed. There was no return label included (despite policy to the contrary). When I tried to reach the company, they contacted me by phone and were not helpful - in fact, the call was lost and there was no further contact by the company. I emailed and got the service I needed.
