Rowley: "This shoe is definitely visually completely different from what you've seen in the past from me. It's a super-lightweight vulcanized shoe. The tread is brand new on it. It's the same waffle tread that's on all the other Vans shoes except that it's slimmed down. We've basically taken all the weight out of the rubber. There's absolutely nothing internally in the shoe. It's about as light and low cut as a vulcanized shoe could possibly get. It has no gimmicks. It's the lightest, lowest, grippiest shoe that you could possibly make."

The shoe is phenomenal. It breaks in to your feet soo perfectly so quick. I wasn't too sure what it meant when it said the shoe flex's to the ball of the foot, but you'll totally know what it means when you put them on. Rowley doesn't lie when when he says it's the slimmest, grippiest, most light weight shoe you can make. It's got a hair more padding on the top then the authentics if you're into that barefoot feel, I've been skating the e-streets for a while so that's kinda my thing. The reverse waffle grip outsole just feels like two little slices of heaven slapped on the bottom of your kicks. And if you're looking at these shoes and all these negative doubtful thoughts come into your head, erase every single one of them and think of all those great times you've had wearing vans, and how vans have always been there for you and have never ever let you down even at your toughest times. So my advice to you is to go buy a pair, and then tell your mom to buy herself a pair, and then take her to go skate with you, because there's a really high chance she'll be ripping harder than half the kids at the park if she's wearing a pair of these bad boys.. Aloha, from from the big island of hawaii!

The SPV grips exceptionally well for how thin the sole is and you won't find many shoes with the level of board feel that it possesses. However, the shoe is so thin that it's fairly uncomfortable if you're on your feet for several hours a day. Also, I ended up tearing through the durasuede pair in about 3 hours at a park, but I tend to skate pretty hard and my shoes mostly have a life of about 2-3 weeks.

Overall, if you're a casual skater looking for a new design that grips very well, look no further, but if you go through shoes rather quickly then you're better off spending your money on something like the TNT 5s or Stage 4s.

Comments about Geoff Rowley SPV, Men:

This shoe is amazing. Of all my pairs of vans (about 5!), I wear these the most. They look good, nobody else seems to have them, but best of all, they skate great. The one possible downside might be the slimness of these shoes. As a longboarder, it's great, because board feel is important, but fair warning, you will feel everything you step on after awhile in these great shoes.

Very comfertable shoe, fits great. Only thing that was a little uncomfertable was the shoe line at the ankle. It jabbed into me until they were broken in. Otherwise very good shoe.

This shoe is the best shoe ive ever worn. Its by far the grippiest shoe in the skating industry. This shoe has not one fault besides the fact its uncomfortable.
