The Transient is the most rugged of Vans' skate packs, designed for the hardest-skating individuals out there. Rock solid ripstop construction stands up to all kinds of abuse, and a combination of shoulder and sternum straps mean that it stays firmly in place on your back. Inside is tons of padded storage space, including a fleece-lined media pocket. On the outside are sturdy board straps for stashing your deck.

      I've had the bag for a week and so far it seems quite solid for how lightweight it is. It's served me well for both my day to day needs and for carrying around my gear, a first aid kit and some drinks if I'm going out for a longer push or I'm going to pushing my limits on my board. It's also got those nice straps so I can comfortably free up my hands if I decide to stop in a store while I'm on said push and already polished off the drinks I brought. The only thing I'd change is the lack off waist straps. I knew it didn't have them @TOP and it does have chest straps so I can't really complain, but it would be nice to be able to anchor down the bottom of the bag.

        It's great for university (design=lots of tools and models), so it's nice to have small pockets for tiny things and a huge one for computer and books. And it's great when I go snowboarding/kitesurfing: strap my board, put a few things and ride with joy! Even when full and heavy, it's very comfortable. And it's right size for hand luggage on the plane.
