Not sure if my ankle is too short or the shoe too tall/tough, but it wears the skin on the back of my ankle even through socks.

My issue with these shoes is more about false advertising. The shoes I received are not the same shoes shown online. The outside toe wrap is cut different, the color of the brown piping is different, and no leather laces are included. In other words, the shoes shown online look better than what I received IMO. I kept them because they are comfortable.

This is a pretty good all around shoe, good cushioning, board feel. Its just super wide and my feet move around the shoe a lot. took me a while to break them in. The rubber on the shoe wears down a lot faster than normal shoes because the rubber is the same level on the whole shoe so the rubber is the same on the toe as the heel. pretty good all around shoe.

Stage 4 have great board feel. Probably the best I've ever experienced since skating. It's ready to skate right out of the box so there's no break-in period. After skating these for 2-3 weeks alrdy they still look brand new and haven't had any problems. They're great for jumping down stairs/ledges and I don't feel sore after skating for long periods of time. Overall Vans did an awesome job on the Stage 4. Can't wait for what's next for the Wafflecup Technology!
