Vans' storied history, and our connection with skate and surf culture, began in 1966 Southern California with the rolling out of a single pair of shoes. They were named Authentic. The light sky-blue color was what really made me want them. I was dissapointed to find that the advertised color was really a darker teal blue-green. Plus, in the advertised photo, there were four rows of eyelets on the shoe, but when I received my sneakers, there were five eyelets instead. I really wish that the products sold here would be marketed more truthfully. Despite the coloration dissapointments, this shoe is of pretty decent quality and very, very comfortable. I would reccomend this product to a friend, but before purchasing you may want to see your desired style of Vans in person to be sure you aren't being deceited. Comments about Canvas Authentic: I just got the Authentics in chili pepper red and I love them! I can't wait til I get them broken in, I'll wear them all spring and summer. They're not quite supportive enough for me to wear to my barista job, but for everything else (especially cycling) Vans are the best! This is my ninth pair of Vans but my first in this style. I expect them to be as durable as all the other pairs I have.

Comments about Canvas Authentic: It's good for casual wear and school. But they do stain easily. I tried getting the stains out and got the color out a little bit.
